Wide-angle mirrorless video lens
The Samyang 12mm T2.2 VDSLR NCS CS lens is a wide-angle mirrorless video lens designed for APS-C crop sensors. The T-number represents actual amount of light transmission to assist with accurate shooting. The focus ring gear is suitable for follow focus system, and the decoupled aperture ring controls aperture quietly during shooting for precise operation. The manual aperture system with low T-number enables natural shooting under various lighting conditions. Samyang’s new Nano Coating System (NCS) is used to provide the best quality image with low reflection.
This lens shows an exceptional optical performance, especially in light transmission. The optical construction features 12 lenses in 10 groups - among which, there is 1 hybrid aspherical lens(H-ASP), 1 glass aspherical lens(AS) and 3 low-dispersion glass lenses(ED), all to capture high quality images. With such optical construction, a minimum focusing distance of 0.2m is achieved.
There are 6 aperture blades, designed to be almost a perfect circle when aperture is closed, to express starlike rays clearly and beautifully. The body of the lens is compact and solid, being made of high-strength aluminium alloy. Stunning images can be captured even under challenging conditions.
