The RF 20mm F1.4L VCM is the first ultra-wide L-series lens in Canon’s professional hybrid lens family, designed for landscapes, architecture and video.
With its vast 20mm focal length and fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, the RF 20mm F1.4L VCM lets you redefine your wide shots. It captures an exhilarating 94° diagonal angle of view and focuses as close as 0.2 metres, enabling scenes to be framed in a truly dynamic way.
The RF 20MM F1.4L VCM is an ultra-wide addition to the RF hybrid prime range. This family of lenses are designed to meet the needs of professionals who shoot video and stills and incorporate useful filmmaking features such as a click-free Iris Ring, smooth focus transitions and minimal focus breathing.
Ultra-wide and ultra-bright
Take control of the 20mm focal length to explore new angles for establishing shots and make a big impression with low-light scenes thanks to the bright f/1.4 aperture.
Cinematic images that are bursting with detail
Enjoy exceptional image quality thanks to cutting-edge optical technologies, minimal focus breathing and an 11-blade aperture that renders highlights beautifully.
Precision in every frame, whether moving or still
An Iris Ring1, Control Ring and Lens Control button provide intuitive manual control, and powerful Voice Coil Motor2 technology drives the autofocus smoothly in near-silence.
Small size, endless freedom
Stay mobile with a compact design that matches other L-series hybrid prime lenses, enabling this ultra-wide to be used interchangeably with the rest of the range.
Durable build to meet the demands of professional use
L-series build quality, weather-sealing3 and a fluorine coating on the front element ensure that the RF 20MM F1.4L VCM is a hybrid prime that’s ready to master the wide-open world.
Iris Ring
The click-free Iris Ring allows the aperture to be adjusted extremely smoothly in 1/32 steps for a seamless transition between dark and bright scenes while shooting video.
VCM (Voice Coil Motor)
The focusing group in this lens consists of multiple lens elements, and the combined weight would be challenging to move with other types of focusing motors. VCM technology provides the optimum combination of torque, speed and near-silent operation, allowing spontaneous moments to be captured and smooth focus pulls to be achieved when filming.
Lens Function Button
By default, the Lens Function Button works as an AF stop button which temporarily pauses AF during Servo AF, but it can be assigned with a preferred camera function. With the camera set to video mode, for example, the Function Button can operate as a zebra or false colour toggle or set as the video record button.

Lenses with dust/moisture resistance are fitted with a rubber ring on the lens mount which may cause slight abrasion of the camera mount. This in no way effects either the lens or camera performance. |

Various limitations apply to some cameras; we recommend installing the latest Firmware update on your camera for best performance. Even with latest Firmware update on EOS R, RP, Ra, R3, R5, R6, R6 Mark II, R7, R8, R10, R50, R100 and EOS R5C when shooting still photos, the aperture value cannot be set using the iris ring. |

Important: The Voice Coil Motor in the lens emits a low-level magnetic field. While generally safe to use, we advise consulting your doctor if you have a pacemaker or any other medical device to address any concerns. |
