Technically Beautiful - The new S8/iFF
The innovative and technologically advanced S8/iFF series is faster, lighter, and smarter. With an all-spherical design it enables an evolution of the unique Cooke Look for modern digital cinematography. S8 is a new range of 16 all-spherical lenses for full frame capture. All are created to the same exacting standard and hand-crafted to the same exceptional quality and reliability.

Lens aesthetic - All-spherical design
The new S8/iFF features premium all-spherical lenses, which produce a uniquely organic, cinematic quality, which is characterised by smooth, spherical bokeh and minimal colour fringing. Enabling you to create sensitive and emotive images with a high degree of dimensionality.

S8 bokeh: Smart, all-spherical design
Organic, natural, smooth, velvety. Symmetrical shape

  • On Optical Axis Spherical bokeh
  • Off Optical Axis (in the field) Cats-eye bokeh

Faster. Lighter. Smarter.
With a maximum aperture of T1.4 across the focal range, the new S8/iFF lenses are amongst the very fastest produced for larger than Full Frame capture. They also offer greater control over depth of field and flare characteristics, whilst still providing excellent low light performance without graining.

Compact and light, agile and easy to use, the new S8/iFF lenses have been created for a wide variety of situations and today’s compact cameras. Being lighter, however, has not compromised strength, durability, or their exceptional image quality.

Designed from the ground up to incorporate our very latest intelligent / itechnology, which includes:

  • /i data focus and iris position
  • /i motion inertial data
  • /i maps factory calibrated shading and distortion data

S8 also benefit from a high degree of modularity, which increases reliability and reduces servicing time. For example, the /i Technology board and placement.
