The most compact and versatile high magnification macro lens.This lens is optimised for macro shooting between 2.5X – 5X life-size. The lens is specially designed with an extended working distance (45mm at 2x & 40mm at 2.5x) and small lens barrel. This allows sufficient lighting on the object for easier shooting in the field. The lens is much more compact and lighter than other macro lenses. This lens also provides a greater depth of field compared to other extreme macro lenses in the market. The Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X is developed for both professional and leisure macro photography, to be used in the field or indoor set-ups. An optional LED Ringlight and Tripod Collar are available for added control and precision operation.

2.5 to 5X Magnification
Dedicated to extreme close-up imaging, this lens is a specialised macro lens for photographing subjects at magnifications greater than life-size. Specifically developed for macro photography, this lens is designed for use within a 2.5:1 to 5:1 magnification range for producing greater-than-life-size imagery.

Extended Working Distance
Carefully designed to extend the short working distance of traditional 25mm lens in order to provide sufficient room for lighting hitting the subject. Operating within a 2.5:1 to 5:1 range, this lens has a minimum focus distance of just 6.8″ at the 5:1 magnification along with a comfortable 1.6″ working distance. (40mm @ 5:1 , 45mm @ 2.5:1).

Superb Optical Performance
Complementing the close-up capabilities, the optical design incorporates 8 elements in 6 groups  with a extra-low dispersion element to deliver an unprecedented corner to corner sharpness. The extra-low dispersion element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations for a high degree of clarity.

Greater Depth of Field
Wide-angle design with magnification range from 2.5 to 5X benefits the high magnification design by providing greater depth of field compared to telephoto or long lens designs. Moreover, manual focus operation for precise control over focusing distance when working with close-up subjects.
