How to Use 

1. Indicator Light Status and Ring Status

• Flashing blue - Powering on/off, connecting to camera, taking a photo
• Solid blue - Successfully connected to camera
• Solid red - Charging
• Flashing red - Recording a video
• Flashing yellow - Low battery     

2. Charging
Place the ring into the charge clip, ensuring the charging points are fully aligned. Connect a 5V/1A adapter to the USB-C port on the charge clip. The ring fully charges in approximately 1.5 hours. The battery life is approximately 5 hours.

3. Wearing
Wear the ring remote on your finger.
The standard ring strap is size S (45mm). The spare ring strap is size L (55mm).To replace the ring strap, use the removal tool to push out the spring bar and replace the strap.To install, secure one end of the spring bar and use the pin to push the other end into place.

Notes:
The spring bars are small and should be handled carefully to avoid losing them.
Make sure the spring bar is properly aligned and securely fitted when attaching a new ring strap.

Attach the ring remote to a selfie stick or handlebar.
First, remove the ring strap and attach the Velcro strap to the ring remote.Then, wrap the Velcro strap around the selfie stick, handlebar, or other object, and secure it in place.

4. How to use

Power On/Off

• Hold the button for two seconds to power the ring remote on.
• When the camera is disconnected and the ring remote is on, hold the button for three seconds to power the ring remote off.
• When the camera is connected and the ring remote is on, hold the button for three seconds to power the camera and ring remote off simultaneously.
• When the ring remote is not connected to the camera, it will automatically power off after 2 minutes.
• When the ring remote is connected to the camera, neither the camera nor the ring remote will automatically power off.

Connect Camera
Power on the ring remote and the camera.Swipe down on the camera’s touchscreen to enter the shortcut menu, find “Bluetooth Remote”, then tap “Insta360 Ring Remote”. Once connected, the indicator light on the ring remote will be solid blue.

Wake Up Camera

Once connected via Bluetooth:

• Press and hold the button on the ring remote for 2 seconds to simultaneously power off both the camera and the ring remote.
• Press and hold the button on the ring remote for 2 seconds to wake up the camera and power on the ring remote.

Take Photo/Video

• Connect the ring remote to the camera and press the button once to take a photo or start recording a video.
• Press the button again to stop recording.
• When taking a photo, the ring will vibrate and the indicator light will flash blue once.
• When starting a video recording, you will feel a long vibration.
• During recording, the indicator light continuously flashes red
• There will be a short vibration once you end the recording.
• Once QuickCapture is enabled on the camera, pressing the ring remote’s Shutter Button when the camera is powered off will quickly power it on and start recording.

Mark Video
If the ring remote is connected to the camera and the camera is recording video, press the button twice to mark the video as a highlight.

InstaFrame Mode
When using the ring remote to control Insta360 X5 remotely, you can adjust the angle while shooting in InstaFrame Mode.

• Press the ring remote twice to switch between Fixed View and Selfie View.
• Press the ring remote three times for a 360 spin or barrel roll.You can choose between a 360 spin and barrel roll effect in the ring remote’s settings.

If the Fixed View you choose is looking at you, pressing the button twice when recording will keep you in frame throughout the video.

Important

• Be sure your camera's firmware is updated to the latest version.
• The ring remote can be used up to 66ft (20m) away when there is no obstacles or interference.
• Check the official Insta360 website for camera compatibility and firmware updates.
• After connecting to the ring remote for the first time, the ring remote can wake up the camera within its effective range.
• Repeat pairing steps if needed.

5. Update Firmware

• Open the Insta360 app > Me > Accessory Settings > search for and connect to the ring remote.
• If a new firmware version is available, the app will prompt you to update. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
• Ensure the battery level is ≥ 50% during firmware updates.

Notes

• The ring remote is currently only compatible with Insta360 X5, Insta360 GO Ultra, and Insta360 Ace Pro 2.
• When wearing the ring remote, ensure that the ring strap is comfortable but tight enough not to fall off.
• Use this product between 28.4°F to 113°F (–2°C to 45°C) with humidity between 0–75%.
• Low-temperature environments below 28°F (–2°C) may cause vibrations to stop temporarily. Normal function resumes once the temperature recovers.
• This product is splash-resistant only. If it gets wet, dry it immediately.
• Ensure the USB-C port is completely dry before use.
• Avoid high heat when drying; do not blow-dry Velcro parts.
• Avoid dropping, hitting, or placing heavy items on the product.
• Do not disassemble or DIY the product.
• If unused for long periods (e.g., 2+ months), the battery may drain completely; charge periodically.
• Do not clean with detergents or liquids; use a soft, dry cloth.
