The Creator - Shot on Sony FX3

Gareth Edward's latest sci-fi blockbuster 'The Creator' was bought to life by cinematographer's Greg Fraser and Oren Soffer using the Sony FX3 as their main unit camera.

Their challenge was to make an $80 million film feel like a $150-200 million film. To achieve this they turned to lightweight and affordable filmmaking tools in order to work faster and be much more efficient when working.

The Sony FX3 was the perfect camera to enable this workflow due to the small size and high native ISO.

The world's first Full-Frame Global Shutter camera

The A9 III is the first camera to feature a full frame global shutter CMOS sensor. Unlike a conventional rolling shutter sensor which reads images sequentially from the top row of pixels to the bottom, the a9 III's global shutter captures the every pixel simultaneously. This avoids any distortion no matter how quickly the camera or subject is moving.

With this sensor technology, Sony are pushing the industry forwards once again, enabling image creators to capture even the most demanding of subjects.

Pursuing a sustainable product ecosystem

The SORPLAS material used in the construction of recent Sony cameras is repeatedly recyclable, durable, oil resistant, and of high quality. Other recyclable materials are also used as much as possible, reducing stress on the environment without compromising performance or functionality in any way.

Other measures for the environment include using recycled materials in production; managing environmental impact throughout the supply chain; using renewable energy in production; and using recyclable non-plastic packaging materials.
